Burbank, California

“Beautiful Downtown Burbank”, a term made famous in the 1960s on NBC’s Laugh-In, is the greatest concentration of the entertainment business in the world. Warner Brothers, Universal Studios, Walt Disney Studios, Capitol Records, ABC and NBC are all within just a few miles. There are hundreds of smaller independent television and film production houses, and countless recording studios generating jobs and millions of dollars for the local economy.

Downtown Los Angeles is only a few freeway miles away down “the 5”, or the Golden State Freeway. The Disney Concert Hall, home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic is an architectural wonder.

Slightly west, down “the 101”, lies Hollywood. You will find things in Hollywood you can not find anywhere else in the world. People watching can be as entertaining as the attractions you’re visiting. It seems like it’s always Halloween on Melrose Blvd., where some of the trendiest clothes shopping can be found. The music scene on Sunset Boulevard has been the launching pad for rock acts from the Doors to Van Halen. Hollywood is still the place to be “discovered”.

Other cities near Burbank are worth a visit.  Toluca Lake, a small affluent part of the city just south of Burbank, shares a love for horses with the desert. Every winter, hundreds of horses (and their riders) migrate from Toluca Lakes’ stables for polo matches at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, and show riding events at the HITS Ranch adjacent to the Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport in Thermal.  Pasadena is the home of the world-famous “Tournament of Roses” parade every New Years Day. The parade, along with the annual Rose Bowl football game, attracts millions.

Desert Jet is a frequent visitor to the Bob Hope Airport in Burbank. Clients looking to avoid the congestion of Los Angeles International, as well as the freeways that lead there, find the Bob Hope Airport in Burbank an easy alternative.

Bob Hope Airport (IATA: BUR, ICAO: KBUR) Originally called the Burbank/Glendale/Pasadena Airport, then named after Bob Hope in the 1990s, the Bob Hope Airport in Burbank is close to most of the studios in the San Fernando Valley.  BUR is also the closest airport to Dodger Stadium, the Hollywood Bowl, Hollywood, Los Feliz, and downtown Los Angeles, as well as Glendale and Pasadena. Scheduled airline service is available in Burbank. There are nighttime curfews for jets in BUR.
